On each evening of the three days, each college will showcase one of their shows from the academic year to an audience of theatre goers, critics and agents.
On the final and climactic evening of the festival each college will compete in presenting a short piece of original writing, written, directed and performed by the students of ULU.
This year our judges boast some of the most impressive names in theatre:
- Ian Rickson (director)
- Lesley Manville (Best Actress Olivier Award 2014)
- Christopher Campbell (Literary Manager of the Royal Court)
The aim of the festival is to showcase pieces of innovative student theatre and new writing on a platform that they are rarely exposed to. LSDF is an esteemed festival which affords industry professionals the opportunity to recognise theatrical talent outside of drama schools.
